AI and Digital Capability Programme Lead

About the role

Concern is launching its 2026‑2030 Strategic Plan and needs a senior leader to build organisation‑wide AI and digital capability. Reporting to the CIO, the AI and Digital Capability Programme Lead will drive responsible AI adoption, close digital skills gaps and embed digital transformation across headquarters and country programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify AI innovation opportunities, coordinate pilots and proof‑of‑concepts, evaluate outcomes and scale successful solutions.
• Develop and implement a roadmap for digital and AI skills enablement across the organisation.
• Lead the integration of AI and digital tools into core business systems, ensuring ethical and safe use.
• Design and deliver training, mentorship and support to staff at all levels, both at head office and in field locations.
• Collaborate with programme teams, IT and external partners to embed responsible AI practices into business‑as‑usual processes.
• Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to digital capability and AI adoption.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading digital transformation or AI enablement programmes in complex, multi‑site organisations.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI principles and ethical considerations.
• Excellent autonomous working style with ability to set priorities and make recommendations in a fast‑changing environment.
• Experience in humanitarian or non‑profit sectors is a plus.

• Fixed‑term 2‑year contract, full‑time.
• Hybrid working: 50 % remote, based in Dublin office.
• Salary €80,184 – €89,094 per year.
• Occasional travel to support offices and country programmes.
