About the role

Join AIR Sligo’s apprenticeship programme and gain hands‑on experience in advanced automation solutions for multinational manufacturers. The four‑year scheme combines on‑site work with classroom training, preparing you for a career in mechanical and electrical automation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist qualified technicians in building, wiring, and debugging highly automated equipment.
• Support panel build, field wiring, machine debug, and installation activities across the plant.
• Maintain a SOLAS training register and adhere to all safety and quality standards.
• Participate in block releases and travel to a technical institution for scheduled classroom modules.
• Document work progress and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• At least Grade D in five Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and preferably a technical subject.
• Strong safety awareness and a high standard of workmanship.
• Positive learning attitude and willingness to work in varied on‑site environments.
