Assistant Accountant (Hybrid) – Dublin City Centre

About the role

Our client in Dublin City Centre is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team on a hybrid working model. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support a range of accounting, payroll and reporting activities, helping to maintain accurate financial records and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with month‑end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Process and reconcile payroll in line with company procedures.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as required.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Monitor financial controls and suggest process improvements.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to the wider finance team.
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience with payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Accounting Technician, ATI or similar qualification is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Payroll processing expertise.
