Audit Accountant – Killarney

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious and detail‑oriented Audit Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Killarney. The role involves delivering audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio while supporting senior staff on advisory projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute audit assignments for a broad range of clients.
• Prepare audit files and ensure compliance with relevant auditing and accounting standards.
• Review financial statements and supporting documentation, identifying audit risks and proposing solutions.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and address queries.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Support senior management on client engagements and business advisory projects.
• Ensure assignments are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting, auditing and regulatory developments.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CPA qualified, or nearing qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in audit practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
