Audit Manager

About the role

BDO Ireland is seeking an ambitious Audit Manager to join its progressive Audit Department in Dublin. You will lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, drive business transformation, and support the professional development of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Lead audit planning, execution, and completion, ensuring compliance with ISAs and accounting standards.
• Coordinate international reporting to Group Auditors and from Component Auditors.
• Allocate staff resources, supervise audit teams, and monitor project timelines.
• Provide technical auditing and accounting guidance to team members and clients.
• Report to senior managers/directors on engagement progress and financial performance.
• Assist with fee billing, cash collections, and WIP recoverability.
• Participate in coaching, mentoring, and appraisal processes.
• Manage pitch preparation and proposal coordination for new business.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification with a minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical auditing and accounting knowledge, including ISAs, FRS100‑FRS102 and IFRS.
• Proven management experience with commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑service mindset.
• Ability to adapt to change and drive results.
