AWS Site Reliability Engineer (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AWS Site Reliability Engineer to join our infrastructure and cloud operations team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency of our AWS‑based platforms and Kubernetes environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure and production environments.
• Support platform reliability, observability, scalability and performance.
• Troubleshoot critical production incidents and lead resolution activities.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot load balancers (ALB/NLB).
• Handle infrastructure patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform modules.
• Automate tasks and configuration management with Ansible playbooks.
• Support Kubernetes cluster operations, deployments, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis and post‑incident reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing high‑severity production incidents and prioritising business‑critical services.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills during incidents.
• Experience with incident‑management frameworks and escalation processes.
• Hands‑on expertise in load‑balancer troubleshooting, OS and infrastructure patch management, and security vulnerability remediation.
• Solid background in Terraform module development and multi‑environment deployments.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles.

• AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, Route 53, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, ALB/NLB, S3, RDS.
• Kubernetes cluster operations.
• Terraform (module creation, remote state, CI/CD integration).
• Ansible (playbooks, roles, configuration management).
• Load‑balancer configuration and troubleshooting.
• Operating‑system and infrastructure patch management.
• Security patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Incident management and root‑cause analysis.
