Back End Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to design and implement the core systems powering BJAK’s AI‑enabled Neobank app. You will work on high‑volume financial APIs that support onboarding, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, travel, FX, KYC and risk management for millions of users across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for core financial products.
• Design reliable, secure, low‑latency systems that handle real‑time transactions.
• Integrate with internal platforms, payment providers, AI services and third‑party partners.
• Own service quality, including reliability, security, observability, data integrity and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile and AI teams to ship features quickly and safely.
• Continuously improve existing workflows by automating manual processes and simplifying architectures.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑grade backend systems.
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs and event‑driven architectures.
• Track record of delivering services used by real customers at scale.
• Mindset focused on debugging, reliability, security and data quality.
• Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability and maintainability.
• Fintech, payments or banking experience is a plus but not mandatory.
