Backend Developer – Java/Python (Hybrid, Dublin/Letterkenny)

About the role

We are looking for a Technology Analyst / Backend Developer proficient in Java and/or Python to join our team in Dublin and Letterkenny. The role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite each week, and focuses on building scalable, cloud‑native solutions on Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable APIs and microservices.
• Build cloud‑native applications on Azure.
• Work with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Kafka for data processing.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps.
• Use Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Support production environments and follow secure development practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Java and/or Python development.
• Strong background in API and microservices design.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
• Experience with data technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL and Kafka.
• Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform).
