Backend Engineer for AI‑Powered Neobank App

About the role

We are looking for backend engineers to build the core systems behind BJAK's AI Neobank app. The role focuses on creating reliable APIs, workflows and financial‑product infrastructure that can scale across markets, partners and millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and other financial services.
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations.
• Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer‑facing journeys quickly.
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and other partners.
• Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance.
• Build practical, auditable systems ready for regulated financial products.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging.
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third‑party systems.
• Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases.
• Able to make practical trade‑offs between speed, quality and risk.
• Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams.
• Fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or regulated‑product experience is a strong advantage.
