Backend Engineer – Payment Squad (Senior)

About the role

Join a fast‑paced engineering environment focused on building secure, scalable, and reliable payment systems that support millions of users worldwide. You will work on end‑to‑end payment experiences, ensuring smooth transactions, fraud prevention, and compliance across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the complete application lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Contribute to the development and scalability of payment systems supporting the full transaction lifecycle, fraud prevention initiatives, and compliance requirements.
• Integrate and maintain multiple payment methods and collaborate with external payment service providers.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to define and deliver user‑centric solutions.
• Ensure high platform reliability, performance, and scalability through strong engineering and operational practices.
• Share technical expertise with cross‑functional stakeholders and contribute to architectural and technical discussions.
• Collaborate within an agile engineering squad while taking ownership of backend services and payment‑related features.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of backend software engineering experience in fast‑growing or product‑focused environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience with Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring/observability tools such as Datadog.
• Solid understanding of service‑oriented architectures and ability to apply appropriate architectural patterns.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems in production.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with full professional proficiency in English.
