Business Development Manager – Hybrid, Galway

About the role

Sterling Engineering is seeking a high‑performing Business Development Manager to expand its client base across the West of Ireland. The role is hybrid, based in Galway, and focuses on winning new business for both the recruitment division and engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new clients in manufacturing, engineering, MedTech and pharma sectors.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans for high‑value prospects.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Lead client meetings, presentations and solution discussions.
• Negotiate commercial terms, staffing agreements and service partnerships.
• Cross‑sell recruitment and engineering services to maximise revenue.
• Generate leads through LinkedIn, networking, referrals, events and direct outreach.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably within manufacturing, engineering or technical environments.
• Strong track record of acquiring new clients and meeting sales targets.
• Ability to build long‑term, trusted client relationships.
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
