Care Support Worker – Part‑Time (2×22h) – Sligo

About the role

Cheshire Ireland is looking for enthusiastic Care Support Workers to join its Abbey View service in County Sligo. This permanent part‑time position (2 × 22 hours) involves providing personalised support to adults with physical, sensory or neurological disabilities, helping them live as independently as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily personal care, mobility, and household tasks according to their personal plans.
• Promote dignity, respect and equality while encouraging independence and choice.
• Build and maintain supportive relationships with service users and their families.
• Work a 24‑hour, seven‑day roster, covering all shifts as required.
• Drive to service locations when needed, using a full manual licence.

Required profile

• Holding or studying for a QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support qualification, or a QQI Level 6 Social Care/Nursing qualification.
• Relevant experience supporting people with disabilities; candidates without formal qualifications may be hired if they commit to completing QQI Level 5 within 18 months.
• Full manual driving licence and willingness to drive for work.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and a good standard of written and spoken English.
• Desire for personal and professional development and a positive, trustworthy attitude.

Required skills

• Computer literacy, with experience of online care‑management systems considered an advantage.
