About the role
The Checkout Operator ensures the Checkout Department runs smoothly, delivering excellent customer service while handling transactions and stock duties.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a computerised till system with barcode scanner, weigh and price items, and process payments.
- Check age restrictions, handle coupons/vouchers, and balance the till at the end of the shift.
- Stock shelves, check inventory, and maintain merchandise presentation to high standards.
- Participate in team meetings and apply learned improvements.
Required profile
- At least 2 years of retail experience (desirable).
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise customer needs.
- Flexible, organised and able to work both independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
