Communications Lead – Biopharma (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Communications Lead will head internal and external communications for a multinational biopharmaceutical affiliate in Dublin. Working closely with the General Manager, the role advises senior leadership on reputation impacts and acts as a spokesperson for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual strategic communication plan to enhance corporate reputation in Ireland, focusing on local communities and patient‑centric innovation.
• Maintain brand consistency across all communications, ensuring alignment with company values.
• Create healthcare and industry materials such as press releases, briefing documents, executive presentations, speeches, influencer letters, and position papers.
• Serve as the primary media contact, manage media inquiries, and implement media engagement plans for senior leadership.
• Lead media crisis management for the affiliate and support all‑Ireland crisis communications when required.
• Collaborate with brand teams to design communication strategies that drive commercial goals, including activation campaigns and awareness initiatives.
• Oversee social‑media channels to build reputation and engage key stakeholders.
• Gather stakeholder insights to inform strategic planning and business decisions.
• Prepare internal stakeholders for external media events and distribute internal communications.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate affairs, preferably within the life‑sciences or pharmaceutical sector.
• Proven track record of leading external and internal communication programmes at a senior level.
• Experience acting as a spokesperson and advising senior management on reputation matters.
• Strong understanding of media relations, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement.
