Communications Lead – Pharma (6-month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Communications Lead to shape and deliver external communications for a leading pharma client in Ireland. This six‑month contract role offers hybrid working and the chance to influence the company’s reputation within local communities and the broader healthcare landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual strategic communication plan to enhance corporate reputation in Ireland.
• Maintain brand consistency across all communications, aligning with core values and innovation goals.
• Create healthcare and industry materials such as press releases, briefing documents, executive presentations, speeches, influencer letters and position papers.
• Serve as the primary media contact, manage inquiries and build relationships with key public media outlets.
• Design and deliver media engagement plans for senior leadership, including the General Manager and Affiliate Management Team.
• Prepare internal communications, stakeholder briefings, videos, social media content and crisis‑management responses.
• Collaborate with brand teams to develop communication tactics that support commercial objectives and activation campaigns.
• Monitor the communications environment, gather stakeholder insights and provide strategic advice to internal teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of communications experience, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector.
• Degree or Masters in Communications (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of the Irish healthcare environment and stakeholder landscape.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex, multi‑stakeholder programmes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing compelling content across multiple media formats.
