Communications Officer – Executive Officer

About the role

The Western Development Commission (WDC) is seeking a Communications Officer (Executive Officer) to support its communications, public relations, and digital engagement objectives. Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will help convey the organisation’s strategy, projects, and initiatives across multiple platforms to a wide range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement the social media content calendar on Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
• Create, curate and analyse digital content, monitor performance metrics and support digital advertising campaigns.
• Draft and distribute internal newsletters, design staff surveys and assist with internal events and wellbeing days.
• Update and maintain website content on WordPress CMS, optimise for SEO and Google AdWords, and coordinate with external web agency.
• Act as brand gate‑keeper, ensuring consistent use of logos, templates and visual identity, and support the production of branded reports, presentations and promotional assets.

Required profile

• Experience in communications, digital media and internal communications within a public or statutory body.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
