About the role
Google is seeking a Company Accountant to manage statutory financial statements, tax compliance, and month‑end reporting for a portfolio of Alphabet companies across the Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain sub‑region. You will work closely with global finance teams, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of financial processes.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee annual statutory financial statements and tax filings, coordinating external audits.
- Perform in‑depth financial analysis, prepare and post month‑end journals, and maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure a robust internal control environment and compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements using AI, scripting, and automation tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an accounting function, preferably with IFRS exposure.
- Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and lead operational initiatives.
