Construction Supervisor – Oil & Gas (Cork)

About the role

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to lead an Oil & Gas project in Whitegate, Cork. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers the chance to manage site activities, ensure safety compliance, and support the successful delivery of a complex civil construction programme.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all site works, coordinating with the Construction Manager and Safety Lead to resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with HSE plans and drive performance improvements.
• Conduct and lead site safety audits, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Allocate daily resources, enforce housekeeping standards, and maintain a detailed daily log.
• Develop, update, and track construction schedules to align with approved timelines.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, addressing design queries and workflow challenges.
• Organise regular contractor meetings to document contract issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Review contract drawings, specifications, and man‑hour estimates to ensure quality control.
• Manage contractor supervisory staff, ensuring proper documentation and contract adherence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in civil construction, preferably in oil & gas or similar environments.
• Proven ability in cost management, quality control, and schedule development/tracking.
• Experience working in ATEX environments and strong knowledge of HSE regulations.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and excellent organisational and communication skills.
