Contract Manager (Construction & Mining)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the contractual aspects of our large‑scale mining, construction and infrastructure projects. You will act as the primary commercial liaison with the client, ensuring compliance, managing risks and driving successful commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage the contract with the client, monitoring compliance and advising the project manager on obligations and risks.
• Identify and highlight critical contractual issues, opportunities and commercial exposures.
• Lead the management of variations, change orders and extensions of time (EOT) submissions.
• Prepare, assess and negotiate claims related to delays, disruptions, scope changes and additional costs.
• Issue contractual notices and correspondence in line with contract requirements.
• Maintain contract registers, claims logs and commercial reporting systems.
• Lead commercial negotiations and act as the primary commercial interface with the client.
• Support project forecasting, cost management and commercial reporting.
• Assist in dispute avoidance and resolution, coordinating with legal advisors when required.
• Drive the negotiation and settlement of final accounts.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in contract and commercial management on major mining, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in claims management, contract administration and commercial negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of construction and mining contract frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
