Crane Operator & Rigger (Dogman) – Lihir Mine

About the role

Join the Maintenance team at Lihir Operations, one of the world’s largest gold mines, as a Crane Operator & Rigger (Dogman). You will support safe and efficient lifting activities across processing and non‑processing areas, contributing to scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs, and shutdown projects.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile and fixed cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Perform rigging and dogging tasks in line with site procedures.
• Inspect lifting gear and equipment before each use.
• Execute planned maintenance and provide breakdown support.
• Participate in shutdowns and project‑specific lifting work.
• Ensure compliance with safety, operational and environmental standards.
• Identify hazards and support proactive risk management.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating cranes in mining, construction or heavy‑industrial settings.
• Current crane operator qualifications and relevant licences.
• Valid Rigger and Dogman certifications.
• Strong knowledge of safe lifting practices and load management.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly.
