Data Analyst 2 – Hybrid (Dublin/Letterkenny)

About the role
Optum is seeking a Data Analyst 2 to support its Individual and Family Plans (IFP) PCOR reporting applications. The role combines data validation, QA automation and business collaboration to improve health outcomes across Ireland. You will work in a hybrid model, splitting time between the Dublin or Letterkenny office and a home‑based workspace.
Key responsibilities
- Support engineers and business users of IFP PCOR reporting applications.
- Validate new or enhanced technical developments and ensure data quality.
- Perform data validation and testing, resolve data issues promptly.
- Gather and finalize business requirements, user stories and documentation.
- Design, build and maintain architecture for data validation and QA automation.
- Load data, create user‑friendly views and provide technical solutions.
- Maintain existing data load processes and customisations.
- Demonstrate data literacy related to Medicare, STAR measures, gap closures and claims.
- Share knowledge, train team members and influence best practices.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Proven experience with relational databases and SQL programming (SQL Server, Teradata or similar).
- Experience in a QA role involving testing, analysis and data validation.
- Hands‑on experience with data movement across servers (SQL, Snowflake, Hive) and handling text files.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Understanding of the software development life‑cycle (requirements, documentation, QA).
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong investigative skills for system reverse‑engineering and new development.
