Data Scientist – Early Hire, Full Model Ownership (B2C SaaS)

About the role

This early‑stage data scientist role is based in Ireland and offers full ownership of machine‑learning models for a B2C SaaS business. You will work remotely with product, growth, engineering and finance teams to turn data into actionable insights that drive revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, validate, deploy and monitor ML models for churn prediction, CLV forecasting, propensity, uplift and recommendation systems.
• Own the end‑to‑end ML lifecycle: feature engineering, model development, evaluation, deployment, monitoring and continuous optimisation.
• Monitor production models to ensure performance remains accurate as user behaviour changes.
• Design and analyse experiments, including A/B tests and causal inference studies, to assess business impact.
• Establish and improve experimentation frameworks, modelling standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with data‑engineering teams to productionise models via scalable pipelines and feature stores.
• Translate analytical findings into clear business recommendations for product, growth, finance and leadership.
• Identify AI opportunities to enhance customer experience, product performance and revenue.
• Ensure responsible use of customer data, adhering to privacy and governance standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building, deploying and maintaining production ML models.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with modern ML frameworks such as scikit‑learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Solid understanding of statistics, experimentation methodologies, hypothesis testing, causal inference and predictive modelling.
• Proven experience with predictive use cases such as churn prediction and customer‑lifetime‑value forecasting.
