Deputy Regional Manager – Children’s Residential Services

About the role

The Deputy Regional Manager will provide senior oversight and leadership for Children’s Residential Services across the region, ensuring safe, high‑quality care for vulnerable children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and support for management of all areas within Children’s Residential Services in the region.
• Governance, management and escalation of identified risks.
• Lead and manage regional teams to deliver services in line with national policy and standards.
• Manage national services or projects as assigned by the Regional Manager and Service Director.
• Proactively manage delegated authority and drive change processes to align service delivery with policy direction.
• Contribute to regional and national working groups, policy formation and project groups.
• Collaborate with regional leads and national service leads (EWS, DSGBV, Commissioning) to ensure comprehensive service access.
• Ensure a continuum of care for young people, supporting interventions that enable independent living.
• Participate in an on‑call arrangement, including occasional weekend and evening cover.

Required profile

• Extensive senior management experience in child protection, social services or a related public sector field.
• Proven ability to manage risk, governance and large multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering services in accordance with national policies and standards.
• Strong change‑management capabilities.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including on‑call duties.
