Design Manager – Data Center Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead design and project coordination for a high‑profile data centre project in Frankfurt. You will oversee the full design lifecycle, from inception to handover, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain controlled document registers and associated documentation.
• Lead the design, surveying and BIM modelling team.
• Manage off‑site pre‑manufacturing design and coordination.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and address design changes.
• Oversee construction methodology, sequence of installation and technical submittal approvals.
• Approve shop drawings and coordinate contractor design works (CDP).
• Support the commercial team with design change cost assessments.
• Develop and maintain the Design Delivery Schedule with all stakeholders.
• Negotiate scope‑of‑work, deliverables and pricing with consulting firms.
• Control design document distribution, prioritisation and quality assurance.
• Lead design meetings, provide input to optimise designs and minimise rework.

Required profile

• MEP & CSA background required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (Architectural, Structural or Civil acceptable).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, preferably on data‑centre or large‑scale engineering projects.
