DevOps Engineer

About the role

This remote‑first position is for a DevOps Engineer based in Ireland, working with a partner company that manages all applications. You will help design, build and maintain the infrastructure that powers globally distributed digital products, bridging software engineering, cloud platforms and developer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain internal services and tools using Go to automate deployments and support developer platforms.
• Build, maintain and optimise scalable CI/CD pipelines, primarily with GitLab CI/CD.
• Manage and improve Kubernetes‑based production and pre‑production environments.
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code solutions with Terraform and Ansible.
• Enhance monitoring, logging and alerting using Grafana, OpenSearch and related observability tools.
• Optimise staging and ephemeral environments for performance, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve developer experience and software delivery processes.
• Take ownership of technical decisions, infrastructure improvements and operational outcomes.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar infrastructure‑focused role.
• Strong Go (Golang) development experience building production services or platform components.
• Hands‑on experience managing production Kubernetes clusters.
• Proven expertise with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD.
• Solid Linux administration and production system management skills.
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code.
