Direct Tax Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading international retail brand, is building a Tax Centre of Excellence to support rapid business growth and navigate the evolving digital and international tax landscape. Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Direct Tax Manager will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping tax automation, governance, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full direct tax and transfer pricing compliance lifecycle, including country‑by‑country reporting and statutory filings.
• Own Pillar Two reporting requirements and related documentation.
• Develop and maintain transfer pricing methodologies, documentation, and guidelines.
• Monitor international legislative changes and assess their impact on the global group.
• Provide tax advisory support and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Define requirements for tax automation, digital reporting, and system/process enhancements.
• Create leadership reporting and forecasting tools to drive strategic value.
• Partner with Indirect Tax, data, and IT teams to implement automated reporting solutions.
• Ensure tax governance, documentation, and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Fully qualified AITI / CTA (or equivalent international qualification).
• 7+ years of dedicated corporate tax experience.
• Hands‑on experience with transfer pricing regulations and methodologies.
• Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills, able to translate complex tax concepts.
• Strong collaborative mindset and team‑player attitude.
