Direct Tax Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading international retail brand, is building a Tax Centre of Excellence to support rapid business growth and navigate the evolving digital and international tax landscape. Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Direct Tax Manager will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping tax automation, governance and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the direct tax and transfer pricing compliance lifecycle, including country‑by‑country reporting and statutory filings.
• Own Pillar Two reporting requirements and related documentation.
• Maintain and develop transfer pricing methodologies, documentation and guidelines.
• Monitor international legislative changes and assess impact on the global group.
• Provide tax advisory support and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Define requirements for tax automation, digital reporting and system/process changes.
• Develop leadership reporting and forecasting tools to drive efficiency.
• Partner with Indirect Tax, data and IT teams to ensure robust reconciliation, audit readiness and automated reporting.

Required profile

• Fully qualified AITI / CTA (or equivalent international qualification).
• 7+ years of dedicated corporate tax experience.
• Hands‑on experience with transfer pricing regulations and methodologies.
• Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills, able to translate complex tax concepts for non‑tax audiences.
• Strong collaborative mindset and team‑player attitude.
