Director of Finance

About the role

This senior executive position leads the financial function of a large Irish disability‑services organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance will shape financial strategy, ensure robust governance and support the delivery of high‑quality services across the Greater Dublin area.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy, planning, control and governance for a multi‑entity group with an annual budget exceeding €100 million.
• Lead engagement with the HSE, managing service arrangements and funding negotiations.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit and compliance obligations of a Section 38 organisation.
• Partner with operational leaders to drive financially sustainable, high‑quality service delivery.
• Build, lead and develop a professional finance team.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with extensive senior finance leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of the HSE funding environment and proven ability to manage large, complex budgets.
• Strong track record in governance, audit and statutory compliance.
• Understanding of the disability sector and established HSE relationships is a distinct advantage.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills at Board level.
