Equipment Rental Consultant

About the role

The Equipment Rental Consultant works within a close‑knit branch team to advise clients on rental solutions, coordinate commercial administration and ensure smooth daily operations of the equipment fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Develop expert knowledge of the branch’s rental fleet and provide professional advice to customers in‑person and by phone.
• Detect on‑site technical requirements and recommend suitable machinery according to company guidelines.
• Conduct outbound sales calls, retain existing clients and negotiate rental pricing, retail sales and service add‑ons.
• Prepare accurate commercial quotes and binding contracts using the internal IT system, ensuring compliance with pricing policies.
• Record all customer interactions, orders and refusals on the dedicated platform and manage invoicing data quality.
• Follow up on outstanding quotes, payment disputes and billing issues.
• Provide daily briefings to the Branch Manager, communicate priorities to the workshop team and coordinate delivery routes.
• Maintain showroom presentation, replenish shelves, label prices and keep the customer area clean and safe.
• Organise annual inventories of the rental fleet and retail stock, and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in equipment rental sales or a similar commercial environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to assess technical needs on site.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to uphold pricing structures.
• Attention to detail for contract preparation, invoicing and documentation.
• Effective communication skills for internal briefings and coordination with workshop and delivery teams.
• Flexibility to participate in cross‑functional projects and temporary tasks.
