Facilities Engineer

About the role

Kepak is seeking a Facilities Engineer to join its Maintenance team at the Cork manufacturing site. The role is full‑time and permanent, reporting to the Primary & Facilities Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for the reliable operation of refrigeration, boiler, steam and energy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise visiting contractors and enforce safe operating procedures.
• Respond quickly to facilities breakdowns to minimise production disruption.
• Support projects such as equipment replacements, upgrades and energy‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance service and inspection schedules are completed and actions are followed up.
• Implement and drive continuous‑improvement projects independently.
• Collaborate with Operations to improve refrigeration performance, availability and efficiency.
• Assist the Engineering Department in meeting budget targets through efficient material use.
• Optimise the CMMS (Piranha) system for asset identification and traceability.
• Provide timely emergency breakdown repairs on all site facilities equipment.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment when required.

Required profile

• Electrical/Mechanical qualification (HNC) or equivalent multi‑skilled apprenticeship.
• Facilities experience in food manufacturing or high‑volume production environments.
• Continuous Improvement (CI) experience and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding diagnostics experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills.
