Finance Director – Global Incentives Strategy

About the role
Medtronic is seeking a Finance Director to lead the global financial strategy for government incentives. You will shape high‑impact investment decisions, partner across Finance, Government Affairs, Tax and Legal, and help unlock value while managing risk.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the global financial strategy for incentives tied to growth, investment and site‑selection decisions.
- Evaluate incentive opportunities using financial modelling, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
- Deliver clear recommendations to senior leadership on which opportunities to pursue and how to structure them.
- Partner with Government Affairs, Tax, Legal and regional teams to design financially sound incentive agreements.
- Integrate incentives into business cases, capital planning and broader enterprise investment decisions.
- Serve as the finance lead for governance, ensuring a consistent, disciplined approach across the incentive portfolio.
- Oversee accounting, compliance, forecasting and realization tracking across the full incentive lifecycle.
- Provide visibility into approved, forecasted and realized value while monitoring commitments and enterprise risk.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field (Level 8) with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 8 years.
- MBA or professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CFA) is preferred.
- Experience with government incentives, site‑selection, tax incentives or public‑sector funding programs.
- Significant corporate/strategic finance experience in a global organization.
- Strong command of financial valuation methodologies (NPV, IRR, payback, scenario modelling).
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional decision‑making.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations.
