Finance Manager

About the role

WP Engine is seeking a data‑driven Finance Manager to lead its Financial Planning & Analysis function. You will own global operational expenses and cost of goods sold for core SaaS operations, acting as a strategic finance partner to department heads.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of three Financial Analysts, fostering strategic business partnership.
• Define analysts’ portfolios across SaaS functions, providing guidance while encouraging autonomy.
• Champion professional development, identify stretch opportunities, and remove roadblocks for promotion.
• Collaborate to automate financial models and reporting pipelines, improving efficiency.
• Manage, forecast, and optimize expenses for COGS (cloud hosting, CX, CS) and OpEx (sales, marketing, product, engineering).
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual budget‑vs‑actual variance analysis to spot risks and efficiency gains.
• Partner with Revenue and Data teams to track SaaS KPIs such as LTV:CAC, Magic Number, NRR, Rule of 40, and margins.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a data‑driven approach to financial planning.
• Proven experience leading finance teams and partnering with cross‑functional leaders.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights.
• Experience in SaaS business models and operational expense management.
