Finance Manager

About the role

WP Engine is looking for a data‑driven, strategic Finance Manager to lead its Financial Planning & Analysis function. You will own global operational expenses and cost of goods sold for core SaaS services, partnering with department heads to allocate capital efficiently and drive scalable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of three Financial Analysts, fostering strategic business partnership.
• Define and align analysts’ portfolios across SaaS functions, providing guidance while encouraging autonomy.
• Manage, forecast and optimise expenses for COGS (cloud hosting, CX, CS) and OpEx (sales, marketing, product, engineering).
• Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual budget‑vs‑actual variance analysis, identifying risks and efficiency opportunities.
• Collaborate with Revenue and Data teams to track critical SaaS KPIs such as LTV:CAC, Magic Number, NRR, Rule of 40 and margins.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and drive automation of financial models and reporting pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting within a SaaS environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high‑performing finance teams.
• Excellent analytical mindset and ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Effective communicator who can partner with cross‑functional leaders.
