Finance Manager – National Research Centre (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the distributed operations team of the National Research Centre. The role will oversee the financial management of the Centre’s activities across 15 research‑performing organisations, including all Irish universities and two research institutes. This is a three‑year fixed‑term position based at Dublin City University.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the Centre’s overall budget, ensuring compliance with national funding rules.
• Prepare, analyse and present financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Oversee cash flow, invoicing, and financial transactions for all partner institutions.
• Monitor financial performance against forecasts and advise on corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate accounting records and support internal and external audits.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures aligned with university and government standards.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in financial management, preferably within a research or higher‑education environment.
• Strong understanding of public sector funding mechanisms and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple institutions and stakeholders.
