Financial Accountant – Group Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to join our busy finance team in New Ross, County Wexford. This permanent position offers the chance to work across multiple companies within a large trading group, gaining exposure to a wide range of finance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounting records, bank reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and draft monthly management accounts for several group companies.
• Update the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.
• Produce monthly cash‑flow forecasts and highlight unusual trends or cost increases.
• Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure compliance with Revenue Commissioners/HMRC for payroll and other taxes.
• Review and reconcile inter‑company balances and process inter‑company recharges.
• Assist with payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Make payments via the online banking portal and maintain stock records.
• Meet tight deadlines in a busy environment and support ad‑hoc project work.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with at least 3 years of experience in a busy finance department.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and sound judgement.
• Proven ability to work as part of a high‑volume finance team handling multiple group entities.
• Highly organised, efficient and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with ERP systems and various accounting software packages.
• Knowledge of VAT filing and payroll processing.
