Financial Controller – Hedge Funds

About the role

Join a fast‑growing alternative investment fund managing roughly $1 billion in assets. Based in Dublin 2, you will work closely with the Head of Finance, gaining hands‑on experience across reporting, taxation, payroll, audit coordination and day‑to‑day finance operations within a sophisticated hedge‑fund environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Finance in all finance function activities.
• Prepare quarterly management reports, journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations and analytical commentary at entity and consolidated levels.
• Oversee accounts payable, cash management and intra‑group billing, including multi‑currency balance reconciliation.
• Act as primary contact for fund administrator reporting queries.
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements under IFRS and US GAAP.
• Coordinate year‑end audit, prepare audit files and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain Irish company compliance, CRO filings and support US/Irish tax compliance.
• Enhance internal controls, procedures and documentation for accounting and tax processes.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers for regulatory and tax compliance.
• Contribute to finance projects and operational improvements.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant with Big 4 training.
• 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience in hedge funds, investment funds, asset management or related financial services.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and complex formulas.
