Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Financial Controller to join our fast‑growing international medical‑device business. This hands‑on position reports directly to senior leadership and combines strategic insight with day‑to‑day operational finance responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, integrity and timely reporting.
• Act as the primary liaison for outsourced finance providers, directing and quality‑controlling their work.
• Design, implement and continuously improve financial processes, controls and policies to support scalable growth.
• Own month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing and reviewing management accounts.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements for all entities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management activities.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insight for strategic decision‑making.
• Prepare board‑level reporting packs and KPI dashboards.
• Support external audits and liaise with auditors, advisors and regulators.
• Drive finance‑system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional in a scaling or high‑growth environment.
• Experience managing outsourced finance teams or shared‑service providers.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and best‑practice process design.
• Background in life sciences, biotech, medtech or other regulated industries is advantageous.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on within a lean team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
