Financial Controller

About the role

This position is for a commercially‑focused Financial Controller reporting directly to the Group CFO of a global network‑security technology business. The role offers high visibility and the chance to influence strategic and operational decisions across an international software environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
• Provide financial insight, commercial analysis, and performance metrics for the business unit.
• Collaborate with project managers on revenue forecasting, project profitability, margin analysis, and cash‑flow planning.
• Analyse trends, risks, and opportunities to drive business performance.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process and oversee monthly management accounts and consolidated reporting.
• Manage revenue recognition and deferred revenue processes in a software setting.
• Lead and develop a small finance team while building strong cross‑functional relationships.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).
• Approximately 5 years of experience at Financial Controller level.
• Strong commercial finance and business‑partnering capability.
• Experience in software, SaaS or technology environments is highly advantageous.
• Deep understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue.
