Financial Controller

About the role
Our client, a fast‑growing energy company backed by private‑equity, is seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to partner with the Managing Director. You will be the primary point of contact for all finance operations, supporting the business as it expands through acquisitions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end financial reporting, finance operations and period‑end close activities.
- Produce and maintain monthly management reports and KPI dashboards for the CEO and board.
- Oversee statutory compliance, including audit, tax and VAT.
- Design budgets and forecasts, acting as a key stakeholder for commercial decision‑making.
- Lead a small finance team, fostering mentorship and professional growth.
- Drive process improvement, automation and digitalisation of finance functions.
- Ensure accurate cash reporting and liquidity planning.
- Participate in M&A activities, supporting due‑diligence and integration.
Required profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA) from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm.
- Approximately 5 years post‑qualification experience in industry, preferably in manufacturing, construction, engineering or FMCG.
- Hands‑on, driven attitude with a willingness to work in a small, dynamic team.
- Proven experience supporting growth through acquisitions.

- Proficiency with AI tools.
- Proficiency with BI tools.
