Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the financial control environment across Broadlake Capital’s group structure, covering holding entities and portfolio investments. Reporting to the Group CFO, the role combines traditional financial control with technical accounting judgement and a broad operational remit.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and annual reporting, group consolidation, accounting standards compliance and external audit processes.
• Provide technical accounting input on complex transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, impairments, revenue recognition and investment accounting.
• Manage tax coordination, liaising with external advisors and overseeing corporation tax, VAT and other filings.
• Direct treasury activities including cash visibility, liquidity management, banking relationships, funding arrangements and covenant compliance.
• Coordinate fund flows, capital injections, distributions, inter‑company funding and portfolio cash‑flow visibility.
• Act as finance lead on M&A transactions, handling financial due diligence, funding flows and post‑acquisition integration.
• Lead corporate restructuring initiatives, entity rationalisation and structure optimisation.
• Oversee statutory filings, board and shareholder documentation and act as primary liaison with company secretarial providers.
• Establish and manage a risk‑based internal audit framework covering financial controls, treasury, fund flows and governance.
• Manage and develop a small central finance team and build strong relationships with portfolio CFOs/FDs.
• Drive improvements in finance systems, data quality, reporting efficiency, automation and standardisation.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with extensive experience in financial control, reporting and technical accounting.
• Proven track record in tax coordination, treasury management and fund‑flow oversight.
• Experience leading M&A finance activities and corporate restructuring projects.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, corporate governance and internal audit.
• Ability to manage and develop a small finance team and influence senior stakeholders across portfolio companies.
