Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead and develop our finance team, working closely with operational managers and senior stakeholders across multiple locations. This permanent position offers a competitive salary, full benefits and a performance bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations across several business sites.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial statements and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure robust financial controls.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cost‑management processes.
• Support external audit requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor financial and operational performance, providing analysis and recommendations.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team.

Required profile

• Strong financial management and accounting expertise.
• Proven experience preparing and analysing financial reports for multiple business units.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience in retail, FMCG or other multi‑site environments is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership experience with high‑performing teams.
