Financial Reporting Accountant – EMEA Merchant Services

About the role

This position offers the chance to join a fast‑growing payments business, working on regulated legal entities and reporting to senior stakeholders across EMEA. You will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity and governance of financial reporting for two Dublin‑based Merchant Services entities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate month‑end and quarter‑end close for assigned entities, covering income statement and balance sheet reporting.
• Partner with Product Control to reconcile profit and loss lines and maintain supporting evidence.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and related disclosures.
• Liaise with external auditors during interim and year‑end audits, providing evidence and responding to queries.
• Produce Central Bank of Ireland regulatory returns and monthly financial reports for senior management and board audiences.
• Manage internal audit interactions and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Oversee expense management, cost discipline and transparency.
• Collaborate with Tax teams for timely tax reporting and payments.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, capital adequacy, wind‑down and going‑concern activities.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience with strong accounting skills.
• Solid understanding of double‑entry accounting, profit and loss, and balance sheet reporting.
• Experience identifying, assessing and resolving financial control and risk issues.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, organised and capable of constructive challenge to drive continuous improvement.
