Fixed Plant Maintenance Trainer

About the role

The Fixed Plant Maintenance Trainer will join St Barbara Limited’s Simberi Operations in Papua New Guinea on a 24‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Training Superintendent, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programmes for Fixed Plant Maintenance staff across multiple site locations.

Key responsibilities

• Define training needs and deliver programmes to maintain compliance for Process Maintenance employees and crews.
• Develop, implement and maintain Fixed Plant Maintenance training systems for the Processing Department.
• Deliver training to the broader SGCL workforce where cross‑departmental competencies are required.
• Capture all training records and assessments in the InTuition Training Management System within 24 hours of completion.
• Complete weekly training planning and reporting, identifying ongoing training priorities.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• At least 5 years of relevant trade experience in mining or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to provide a recent National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
• Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s values and willingness to work a 21/14 roster across PNG sites.

Required skills

• Facilitation and training delivery for Fixed Plant Maintenance personnel.
• Use of the InTuition Training Management System for record‑keeping.
• Knowledge of safety coaching and compliance in a mining environment.
