Fleet Operations Manager

About the role
Wills Bros Group is looking for an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to lead its nationwide fleet function supporting major civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Ireland. Based in the Sallins office, this full‑time, onsite role will oversee approximately 400 vehicles and drive operational excellence, safety and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day operation of a nationwide fleet of around 400 vehicles.
- Lead and develop the fleet department and its wider functional partners.
- Implement and improve Fleet Management Systems and telematics solutions.
- Ensure driver compliance, safety standards and performance monitoring.
- Maintain compliance with RSA, TII, CVRT, insurance and other fleet regulations.
- Monitor utilisation, downtime, maintenance, servicing and overall fleet costs.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, leasing providers, maintenance contractors and telematics vendors.
- Promote a strong culture of road safety, accountability and operational excellence across multiple live projects.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a large‑scale fleet (300+ vehicles preferred).
- Strong background in logistics, transport, construction, civil engineering, utilities or similar fast‑paced operational environments.
- Proven leadership and people‑management capability.
- Experience with driver compliance, vehicle maintenance, fleet operations and cost control.
- Knowledge of RSA requirements, TII compliance and commercial vehicle regulations.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Logistics/Transport Management, Transport Manager CPC, or Fleet Management certifications.
