Food and Beverage Assistant

About the role

The Heritage, a luxury hotel and award‑winning spa in the Laois countryside, is looking for two enthusiastic Food and Beverage Assistants. You will work full‑time in a high‑volume hospitality environment, providing friendly and professional service to guests across the restaurant and bar areas.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests with a smile, eye contact and a courteous welcome.
• Maintain a clean and tidy service station at all times.
• Prepare mise en place, set tables, stock stations and brew tea/coffee.
• Clear, polish and store crockery, cutlery and glassware safely.
• Take customer orders, promote menu items and upsell where appropriate.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness in the bar and restaurant.
• Handle guest complaints discreetly and escalate to management when needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of wines, spirits and menu offerings.
• Perform any additional duties as required by management.

Required profile

• Professional, friendly attitude toward customers and colleagues.
• Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• At least 1 year experience in a high‑volume hospitality setting (training provided if needed).
• Team player with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work early, late, weekends and bank holidays.
