About the role
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a General Manager for its HR Function within the Dublin and South East Health Region. This permanent, whole‑time position will be assigned to a service role at the discretion of the Regional Director of People, operating from either the Carrickmines office in Dublin or the Kilkenny office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee HR operations across the designated sites.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with regional objectives.
- Manage staff performance, development, and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, employment legislation, and public sector standards.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support organisational change and service delivery.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in senior HR management within a public or large‑scale organisation.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive strategic HR initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Irish public sector employment regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
