General Operative – Food Service

About the role

We are seeking motivated individuals to join the Food Service department at Kepak’s Cork facility. The role involves working on a busy production line in a chilled environment, packaging a variety of meat products such as steaks, chops, burgers and meatballs.

Key responsibilities

• Package a range of meat products including steaks, chops, burgers, meatballs and other items.
• Handle pork, beef and lamb products as part of daily duties.
• Work in a temperature‑controlled (chilled) environment for the duration of the shift.
• Perform general production activities that require standing, moving and being on your feet for extended periods.
• Operate machinery only after receiving full training.
• Support additional tasks as directed by the Line Supervisor based on operational needs.

• Ability to use initiative and work independently when required.
• Flexibility with working hours to support operational needs.
• Positive, energetic approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment and willingness to learn.
• Safety‑conscious mindset with commitment to follow all safety guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Power pallet truck operation (training can be provided).
• Forklift operation (training can be provided).
• Food production experience (advantageous but not essential).
• Manufacturing experience (beneficial but training will be provided).
