Government Technology Director – Advisory (Public Sector)

About the role

PwC Ireland is seeking a Government Technology Director to lead its Government & Public Sector (G&PS) Advisory practice. In this senior position you will shape technology strategy, drive business growth, and deliver transformative solutions for public‑sector clients across Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sector and account growth for technology and AI services within the G&PS go‑to‑market strategy.
• Build and deepen relationships with senior technology, data, AI and operational leaders in government organisations.
• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities, managing the full proposal and pitch cycle for major public‑sector contracts.
• Oversee design, build and implementation of technology and AI solutions, including requirements definition, solution architecture, workflow redesign, testing and go‑live readiness.
• Advise senior public‑sector leaders on digital strategies, translating them into executable delivery roadmaps.
• Drive market awareness of PwC’s technology and AI capabilities across priority subsectors such as transport and housing.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex technology programmes in a public‑sector environment.
• Strong stakeholder leadership with a track record of influencing senior government officials.
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business and achieve revenue targets.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of public‑sector technology and AI solutions.
• Experience with solution architecture, workflow redesign, testing and change adoption.
• Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements affecting government technology projects.
