Grade V – Communications Officer

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West is seeking a Grade V Communications Officer to join its Communications and Public Affairs Team. This permanent, full‑time position will support the delivery of internal and external communications across the Limerick, Clare and Tipperary North area.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication strategies that promote HSE initiatives and services.
• Produce a range of communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, web content and social media posts.
• Manage media relations and respond to enquiries on behalf of the organisation.
• Coordinate internal communication channels to keep staff informed of policy updates and organisational news.
• Support crisis communication planning and execution when required.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or professional experience in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an understanding of public sector environments.
