Group Financial Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead the preparation, review and delivery of the Group’s annual and interim financial statements, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this senior position will also drive financial insight for the executive team and support strategic initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and publish the Group Annual Report and interim statements in line with IFRS.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate audit activities across all subsidiaries.
• Oversee subsidiary statutory accounts and ensure consistent accounting and governance standards.
• Lead the month‑end close process, delivering accurate consolidated management accounts.
• Own the Group financial consolidation system (SAP BPC) and ensure data integrity.
• Champion internal‑control frameworks, risk management and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support M&A activities, including due diligence, purchase price allocation and post‑acquisition integration.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing reporting team of four professionals.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA/ACCA (Big 4 experience preferred) with at least 5 years of relevant finance experience.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, consolidation and audit coordination within a multi‑entity group.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and experience implementing new accounting standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑development capabilities.
